Meet Talal
I began my legal career as a barrister and have the distinction of being dual qualified in both the United Kingdom and Pakistan. Seeking closer engagement with clients and the opportunity to provide more practical, hands-on support, I requalified as a solicitor. My interest in transport regulatory law led me to obtain the Transport Manager CPC for both HGV and PSV, alongside auditing experience in key compliance frameworks including FORS, Earned Recognition and Full Compliance.
I now practise independently, focusing exclusively on transport regulatory matters, with particular emphasis on operator licensing and compliance. My approach combines clarity with practicality, delivering straightforward and cost-effective advice tailored to each client’s circumstances. I aim to demystify complex regulatory requirements and provide guidance that is thorough, accessible and actionable, enabling clients to address compliance challenges with assurance.
With more than twelve years of legal experience across two jurisdictions, encompassing immigration law, commercial litigation, constitutional law, conveyancing and now transport regulatory law, I bring a uniquely broad perspective to my work. I specialise in delivering precise, tailored advice to individuals and businesses at every stage of development, enabling them to navigate compliance requirements with clarity and confidence.
Working in close collaboration with leading industry consultants, I adopt a holistic approach to resolving both personal and commercial challenges, ensuring that solutions are practical, effective and make the path to compliance as straightforward as possible.
A little bit more about me
My professional journey did not begin in law. I first obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Business, followed by a Master of Letters in Finance and Management, which gave me a strong grounding in strategy and analysis. I began my career with a major UK bank, gaining valuable insight into the workings of the corporate world. It was during this time that I discovered my true vocation lay elsewhere. Driven by a commitment to justice and advocacy, I chose to retrain as a lawyer, a decision that transformed my career and one I have never regretted.
Among my more unusual qualifications are a D1 minibus licence and a UK private pilot’s licence. I obtained the D1 licence to gain a practical understanding of the skills required by professional drivers, though my own career behind the wheel of a minibus has yet to gather much momentum. My private pilot’s licence is a different matter and is perhaps the qualification I value most, as nothing quite matches the freedom of exchanging road traffic for open skies.
